Alex Lifeson Says Rush Went Out 'On A High Note'
Canadian guitarist Alex Lifeson says he’s come to terms with the end of Rush.
“I’m fine with it now,” the 65-year-old told Planet Rock, adding that it took him about a year after the band’s final concert in 2015 to “feel better about it all.”
Lifeson explained: “I realized we’d gone out on a high note.”
The musician has flirted with the idea of doing a solo album and there was talk that he’d put together a new band with Rush frontman Geddy Lee. (Lee said in December that he was sure he and Lifeson “will make some noise together” again.)
Lifeson said there’s one thing he knows for sure. “I don't want to be in a band and tour anymore,” he said.
“I don't feel the need to carry on with what I did for almost half a century.”
