Arcade Fire Celebrates 3rd Consecutive No. 1 Album
Canada’s Arcade Fire has its third consecutive No. 1 album.
Everything Now tops the Billboard 200 chart dated Aug. 19, which will be published on Tuesday.
“It’s official!,” the band tweeted on Sunday. “Can we finally cut the cake?”
The Montreal emsemble’s 2010 album The Suburbs and 2013’s Reflektor also debuted at No. 1.
According to Nielsen Music, 94,000 actual copies of Everything Now were sold between July 28 and Aug. 3. The chart position also takes streaming into account.
It is only the second rock album to take the top spot on the Billboard 200 this year (after Linkin Park’s One More Light in June). Arcade Fire is also the second rock band, after Linkin Park, to have three No. 1 albums this decade.
Arcade Fire comes home next month for shows in Quebec City, Montreal and Ottawa. They also play Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver in October and do two shows in Toronto in November.
