Ariana Grande: 'This Music Really Saved My Life'

Ariana Grande shared an emotional message to her fans on Saturday in which she admitted they, and her music, saved her life.

The note came about two weeks before Grande kicks off her world tour in Albany, New York.

“i just want to say how grateful i am for my life, for the people in it, for the ups and challenges, for the laughter and the pain, for this music and for the lifelong friendships i’ve made thru making it,” the pop star wrote on Instagram.

“i cant really fathom all that has happened over the past few years. i don’t even really know where i’m going with this post but i’m just grateful to be here still. and excited to see you. i’m prolly gonna cry a lot.”

Last year, Grande dealt with the sudden death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and the end of her engagement to Pete Davidson. In December, she described 2018 as "the worst [year] of my life."

Grande added: “a few months ago i told my team i wasn’t even in an okay enough place to tour or work at all and my friends, you guys and this music really saved my life and turned everything around. i’m still healing but i feel a lot lighter as of late and i think this is really going to be such a beautiful time.”

The singer said she was going to try to take a short break from social media to focus on putting the finishing touches on her new show.

Grande performs in Montreal on April 1, Toronto on April 3, Edmonton on April 25 and Vancouver on April 27.
