Searching for Canadian artists is a dangerous thing to do, according to a popular cybersecurity company.
On Tuesday, McAfee named Avril Lavigne the most dangerous celebrity on the internet.
People searching for the singer have a 14.5 per cent chance of ending up on a website with viruses or malware – and 22 per cent if they search for Lavigne and free MP3s.
Carly Rae Jepsen was ranked third on the list, followed by Celine Dion at No. 5 and Justin Bieber at No. 7.
Also named “dangerous” are Bruno Mars, Zayn Malik, Calvin Harris, Sean Combs, Katy Perry and Beyoncé.
Lavigne replaces Amy Schumer at the top of McAfee’s annual list.
