Avril Lavigne hinted late Thursday that the long wait for a new album may soon be over.
“You only deserve my best effort and that’s what I’m going to deliver!,” the singer told fans in a message she shared on social media.
“I can’t wait to share the new music I’m working on,” Lavigne added. “I promise it’ll be here before you know it!!”
The 32-year-old Canadian artist, who hasn’t released a new collection of music since 2013, first teased a new album last December.
“I will be releasing a new album in 2017,” she wrote at the time. “I can’t wait to open up and share my heart with you! … I’m excited for you guys to hear the new songs.
Then, in March, Lavigne shared: “I’ve been faced with a lot, gone through a lot emotionally. The whole writing process has been therapeutic and empowering.
“This album is a natural process for me and it’s coming from a very honest place. My hope is that it is an inspiration to many people.”
On Thursday night, she thanked fans for their patience and referred to her battle with Lyme disease.
“It’s been a long recovery and I want to make sure that this is perfect for you guys!!”
