Bebe Rexha on Monday hyped the release of her new song "Not 20 Anymore" by posting a sexy photo on social media.
The singer, who turns 30 on Aug. 30, captioned it: “Picture dedicated to the music executive who said I am too old to be sexy.”
According to Rexha, an unnamed executive told her "that I was getting too old and that my brand was ‘confusing.’ Because… I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age.”
She fumed: “I’m fed up with being put in a box. I make my own rules. I’m tired of women getting labeled as ‘hags’ when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age.”
Rexha said she celebrates her age "because you know what, I’m wiser, I’m stronger and TRUST ME I’m a much better lover than I was 10 years ago.”
To mark her 30th birthday, the singer is dropping a track titled “Not 20 Anymore."
In January, Rexha slammed designers who were reluctant to make her a Grammy Awards red carpet dress because she’s a size 8. “A lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big,” she shared. “Literally, I’m too big.”
