Billy Ray Cyrus Cancels Alberta Show Due To Plane Problems
Billy Ray Cyrus was forced to cancel his performance at Camrose’s Big Valley Jamboree on Friday after experiencing mechanical issues with his flight.
Festival organizers announced to attendees that Cyrus was travelling from Burbank, California, but had to turn around due to problems with the aircraft, and would be unable to make the show in time.
The country singer quickly tweeted out the bad news, and confirmed that he and his crew were safe.
“To all my fans in Canada & our friends at @theBVJ: my plane had major issues on the way up to Alberta. I'm safe & the crew is fine, but I'm not going to make it in time for my performance. I am so disappointed & hate that this happened, but I’ll be back next year. Much love, -BRC”
The Big Valley Jamboree tweeted: "We have talked to Billy Ray and he is absolutely devastated that he could not make the show this afternoon as it is the first performance he has ever cancelled."
Cyrus' band was already in Alberta so they performed with Cyrus' friend Derek Jones filling in for him.
