The members of BTS are taking an extended break.
The K-pop group – Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook – will be taking vacations, according to Big Hit Entertainment.
It’s not known how long the group will be out of the spotlight. According to the BTS website, they are not scheduled to do another concert until Oct.11 in Saudi Arabia.
"This period of rest will be an opportunity for the members of BTS ... to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators,” read a statement from Big Hit. "Should you have a chance encounter with a member of BTS while they are on vacation, we ask that you show consideration for their need to rest and enjoy their private time off.”
South Korea requires most males between 18 and 28 to serve between 18 and 22 months in the military. The members of BTS currently range from 21 to 26 years of age.
“As a Korean, it’s natural and someday, when duty calls, we’ll be ready to respond and do our best,” Jin told CBS Sunday Morning earlier this year. Jungkook added: “I don’t want to think about it at this point. We have something really good going.”
