Camila Cabello has revealed that falling in love has had an impact on the songs she created for her sophomore album.
“Falling in love is like an infinite amount of levels and layers and angles,” she told Variety. “I fell in love and just opened up. Everything was written in present moment.”
Cabello collaborated on the new music with Canada’s Frank Dukes as well as Amy Allen, the Monsters & Strangerz, Mattman & Robin, and Ali Tamposi.
The pop star didn’t say who she fell in love with but, later in the interview, spoke about the eight-month process of bringing “Señorita,” her duet with Shawn Mendes, to life.
“I’ve known Shawn for such a long time, and it’s so much fun getting to work and do things with somebody who means a lot to you,” said Cabello.
The singer is one of several music artists featured in Variety’s 2019 Power of Young Hollywood issue, including Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, H.E.R. – and Mendes.
