Canada’s Tegan and Sara are among the music acts nominated for this year’s British LGBT Awards.
The Alberta-born twins are up against other gay artists like Troye Sivan and Frank Ocean, as well as allies including Dua Lipa, Pink and Rita Ora, in the Music Artist category.
The award recognizes musicians “who are either LGBT+, or who have proven to be strong advocates of the LGBT+ community.”
Nominees in the Celebrities category – honouring stars “who have come out in the face of adversity or who support the LGBT+ community in a positive way” – include singer Demi Lovato. She’s on a list that includes Cara Delevingne, Colton Haynes, Laverne Cox, and Sean Hayes.
The Celebrity Allies category includes singer Annie Lennox, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, and Harry Styles.
Voting is now open and winners will be announced on May 11 in London.
Last year's winners include Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui.
