Cardi B Becomes Highest-Charting Female Rapper Since Nicki Minaj
Cardi B makes a huge jump on the Billboard Hot 100 with her hit, "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)," scoring the highest-charting single by an unaccompanied female rapper since Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda."
On the chart dated Aug. 26, "Bodak Yellow” is at No. 8, making Cardi also the first female rapper to reach the Top 10 with a debut entry.
It's yet to surpass Minaj's Sir Mix-A-Lot sampled "Anaconda," which peaked at the No. 2 spot in 2014.
Minaj has already shared her stamp of approval for Cardi B by recently following the budding rapper on Instagram. More recently, she reposted one of Cardi's videos on Snapchat that had "Rake It Up" playing in the background.
