Carrie Underwood’s Canadian husband, hockey player Mike Fisher, has addressed speculation about the state of their marriage.
On Sunday, Fisher posted a biblical verse on Instagram that he described as “one of my new favorite verses because I need this reminder daily!”
It read: “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
When one fan commented “Praying for you and Carrie. Ignore the media. Hold tight to each other. There are always bumps in the road,” Fisher replied: “That’s not media. We’ve never been better.”
Fisher was evidently taking a shot at In Touch, which reported that Fisher and Underwood are headed for divorce after almost eight years.
“Carrie has wanted more quality time with Mike. They’ve only been on a couple of vacations together in the seven years they’ve been married,” an unnamed source supposedly told the magazine.
“If Carrie and Mike continue to grow apart, it will surely end in divorce for them. And that would be heartbreaking.”
In Touch also claimed Underwood is anxious to have another baby but “Mike isn’t always cognizant of Carrie’s feelings and needs.”
