CTV’s new, six-part original music series titled The Launch is on the hunt for Canada’s next big music act. The show has begun casting for the next big breakout act who thinks they’ve got the chops to craft a hit single.
Put together by the masterminds behind American Idol (world-renowned record executive Scott Borchetta) and founder, president, and CEO of the Big Machine Label Group, which counts international superstars like Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire, Florida Georgia Line, Rascal Flatts, and Thomas Rhett on its roster, the show is perfectly primed to create Canada’s next massive star.
The Launch will bring together a selection of unsigned artists, and pair them with mentors who will help them create a chart-topping hit – offering viewers a look behind-the-scenes of how a #1 song is brought to life.
“Bell Media is renowned for creating content that resonates with viewers, so who better to partner with on this international project and to keep viewers engaged,” said Scott Borchetta in a statement.
“From Drake to Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and Shawn Mendes – Canada is known for its world class talent and I can’t wait to discover the world’s next superstar,” Borchetta continues.
Casting for the show, which begins production this summer in Toronto, is now underway. Your chance to apply is now – the deadline for submissions is May 10 at 11:59 PM ET. Head to ctv.ca/thelaunch for the full details and to apply.
