Dolly Parton Calls University Course About Her Life 'A Blessing'
The University of Tennessee is honouring Dolly Parton in a big way.
Located not far from Parton's Locust Ridge birth place in Sevier County, UT Knoxville is going to offer a new course about her life and career to history honours students.
The class, titled "Dolly's America,” will focus on Parton's 40-plus years in show business.
Parton's book, Dolly: My Life will also be required reading in the class syllabus, in addition to other books about the Appalachian way of life.
On Twitter, Parton said: “From the girl voted in High School ‘least likely to succeed’ this sure is a blessing!”
The country icon was a commencement speaker at UT Knoxville in 2009 and received an honourary degree.
