Drake Sets New Records With 'Scorpion'

He started from the bottom but always ends up at the top.

Drake new album Scorpion will debut in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, which will be published Tuesday.

It is the Canadian superstar’s eighth consecutive No. 1 album and ties him with Eminem and Kanye West for the second-most No. 1 albums by a hip-hop artist, behind Jay-Z.

The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. every week, based on traditional sales, downloads and streaming.

Scorpion earned 732,000 equivalent album units in its first week, making it the biggest by any artist so far this year.

According to Billboard, Scorpion had 745.9 million streams in the U.S. its first week of release – a new record – and is the first album to top 1 billion streams in a week. This was aided by the fact that the album has 25 tracks.
