Drake is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Carpool Karaoke, iHeartRadio.ca has learned.
According to a source, the Toronto rap star will shoot his musical ride-along next month. But unlike most Carpool Karaoke segments, it won’t be on the streets of L.A. – Drake wants to show off the streets of his beloved hometown.
Carpool Karaoke is a wildly popular feature of The Late Late Show with James Corden in which the host chats and sings with a famous music artist. After airing on The Late Late Show, the segments quickly go viral on YouTube.
The only other Canadian to be featured on Carpool Karaoke is Justin Bieber, who appeared twice in 2015.
Other stars who have caught a ride with Corden include Bruno Mars, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Adele and Britney Spears.
Drake’s Carpool Karaoke is timed to the June release of his new album Scorpion.
In March, Corden tweeted a photo of himself and Drake with the caption: “This guy was so great last night he offered to help me beat the traffic on the way to work whenever I need it.”

But, it’s not clear if Drake’s segment will have Corden behind the wheel. Last year, a Carpool Karaoke series started running on Apple Music, featuring different celebrity drivers, and Drake has a partnership with the company.
In a perfect world, we’d see a special Toronto edition of Carpool Karaoke with Drake and Shawn Mendes – the latter of whom is scheduled to appear on The Late Late Show from June 4 to 7.
