Ed Sheeran Accused Of Ripping Off Australian Song

Ed Sheeran could be in hot water after a pair of Australian songwriters accused him of ripping off a song they wrote for fellow Aussie star Jasmine Rae.

Sean Carey and Beau Golden allege that Sheeran’s “The Rest Of Our Life” – penned for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill – is a “blatant copying" of their 2014 song, "When I Found You.”

The songwriters are represented by Richard Busch, who sued Sheeran in 2016 over his hit “Photograph” (the case was settled).

They alleged “the copying is, in many instances, verbatim, note-for-note copying of original elements of the song, and is obvious to the ordinary observer.”

Carey and Golden are seeking at least $5 million U.S. in damages plus profits, royalties and costs.

The allegations have not yet been proven in a court.
