Ex-Stones Guitarist Brian Jones Was Murdered: Daughter

A daughter of Rolling Stones co-founder Brian Jones has called his death “a bit of a mystery.”

Barbara Marion told Sky News that her “own research” and “feelings” lead her to believe Jones was murdered.

“The police did not investigate it the way they should have,” she claimed. “I would love to have them reopen [the case] and to get some answers.”

Jones was found dead at the bottom of his pool on July 3, 1969 at the age of 27. A coroner ruled that the musician’s death was the result of misadventure. Jones, who battled substance abuse, had an enlarged heart and liver at the time of his death.

Born in February 1969, Marion was Jones’ sixth child and second daughter.

He died less than a month after he was asked to leave the Stones – and she feels like he doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

“He formed the Rolling Stones,” said Marion. “He chose every member, he got them their gigs. If it weren't for my father, Mick Jagger would be an accountant somewhere.”
