Feist Returns After Six Years With ‘Pleasure’
Feist’s first new full-length album since 2011’s Metals, Pleasure, has finally been released to the world! The 11-track album is very much in line with her previous releases, but includes a collaboration with Jarvis Cocker and a more mature sound.
According to the Calgary native, Pleasure was the result of Leslie Feist “taking back control” after she wasn’t happy with her place in her career.
“I understood that there was actually a choice,” she said in an interview with U.K. newspaper The Guardian. “You can decide to lean positive, you can decide to give things a silver lining, you can decide to have the glass be half full – as opposed to just feeling like my moods are god, as if whatever mood is passing through me has complete control and I have no say.”
She worked with producer friends Mocky and Renaud LeTang on Pleasure. The “Century” singer played a concert last night in Toronto. She had previously announced a world tour, which includes several Canadian dates.
