French Montana says fellow rapper Mac Miller would not have died if he had more supportive people in his life.
In an interview with Raq Rants on BET, Montana said Miller’s drug overdose would not have happened under his watch.
“If I was around him a couple more nights I would have made him stop,” he said. “He ain’t have nobody who was doing that.”
Montana said Miller “was doing the same thing every other artist was doing out there” but was surrounded by the wrong people. “I feel like they let him get away with whatever he chose to do.”
Miller was found dead in his California home on Sept. 7. According to a coroner’s report that was made public this week, the rap star had a toxic mix of drugs and alcohol in his system.
