Guns N’ Roses cut short a concert at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday because Axl Rose was suffering from an upset stomach.
“I’ve been throwing up for the last five hours,” the band’s frontman told the crowd of 25,000. “Instead of cancelling, we’re going to do the best show we can for you.”
Despite Rose’s condition, GnR rolled through 17 songs, according to reports.
Bassist Duff McKagan tweeted after the show: “Axl Rose pulled a damn miracle. The man was beyond ill, and pulled off something I’ve never seen in my beyond 40 years of playing. You all pulled him through.”
Slash also had a message for fans. “Axl was severely ill,” the guitarist tweeted. “But you were all hugely supportive. Thanks for that. We’ll see you again next time. Cheers!”
