Halsey: Iggy Azalea Is A ‘F--king Moron’

Halsey has gotten herself into some hot water with some pretty explosive comments about Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

Fresh off of her No. 1 album hopeless fountain kingdom – the first female to reach the top spot on Billboard 200 this year – the singer has been doing the press rounds.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Halsey was asked why she chose to work with rapper Quavo, who had previously made homophobic remarks about fellow rapper iLoveMakonnen.

Halsey defines as bisexual and her song "Strangers" is an LGBT-positive anthem. However, she took a somewhat defensive stance regarding her decision to collab.

“I think he’s misunderstood,” she said. “Just because I choose to be a socially conscious artist, and I’m pretty good at it, that doesn’t mean every artist is going to be equipped to be politically correct. I don’t think he’s inherently homophobic, I think he’s in a tough place of trying to explain what he means. I agree his apology was bull**t but I can’t police everybody.”

The interviewer suggested that she can police who turns up on her own albums. “Yes, I can,” she replied, “and there’s a lot of people I wouldn’t put on my record.

"Iggy Azalea: absolutely not. She had a complete disregard for black culture. F***ing moron. I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me.”

Halsey has always been unapologetically outspoken, but this new comment is definitely not what we’ve come to expect from the singer. Azalea has yet to respond.
