Jennifer Lopez has said her brief marriages to waiter Ojani Noa and dancer Chris Judd “don’t really count.”
In a Making The It’s My Party Tour: Showtime! video on YouTube, Lopez explained: “I was very young the first two times I tried to get married,” she said. “I’m saying tried to!”
Lopez was married to Noa for nine months in 1997-98 and to Judd for 11 months in 2001-02. She was engaged to actor Ben Affleck before tying he knot with singer Marc Anthony, with whom she spent a decade and welcomed twins Max and Emme.
“It seems like in this life, like you’re always surrounded by people, you’re never lonely,” she said. “But it’s very lonely. And so you always want somebody with you. Somebody. And so I felt like if I got married, I felt like I would always have somebody. But that’s not how life works. That’s not how it goes.
“It’s a bad reason to get married! Not the right one. The wrong one! The right one is when you find somebody who really makes you better.”
Lopez is currently engaged to baseball star Alex Rodriguez with a plan to get married next year. “I’d like a big wedding,” she said. “I’d like to get married in a church this time. I’ve never been married in a church.”
JLo brings her It's My Party Tour to Toronto on July 7 and 8 and Montreal on July 10.
