John Mayer is encouraging guys to take their shirts off, pull their pants up, and post photos online.
The 40-year-old singer-songwriter sparked the Kylo Ren Challenge over the weekend by mimicking Adam Driver’s character in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Sporting black pants up to his mid-torso, Mayer captioned the selfie simply: “#kylorenchallenge.”
In the movie, Driver is seen in one scene shirtless and wearing high-waisted pants.
Director Rian Johnson told People: “It’s all about those Force connection scenes. The keyword being intimacy. And the idea that this was a way to just, why not step that up? The idea that, what’s even more uncomfortable having a conversation face to face with a person you don’t want to, as if they’re half-naked during it, while you’re having to do it.
“And so it was just another way of kind of disrobing Kylo literally and figuratively a little bit more, and pushing that sense of these conversations becoming increasingly more intimate.”
After Mayer imitated the look, social media lit up with thousands of posts from guys who accepted the challenge.
