Justin Bieber has apologized to Marilyn Manson after the shock rocker called him arrogant and “a real piece of s***” in a recent interview.
Manson, appearing on The Howard Stern Show, said the Canadian pop star reached out to him via text hoping it wasn’t too late to say sorry.
“I thought we had a pretty pleasant interaction,” Bieber’s text to Manson read. “Also, if anything wasn’t squared away with the T-shirts, I’m so sorry.
“Anyway, regardless, it kind of stung seeing that I came off as an a**h*** or even just was an a**h***, I’m sorry?”
Bieber also texted: “Honestly, I totally thought we hit it off. Again, my bad. If I was an a**h***, that wasn’t my intention. Just want you to know that. I don’t really care about the media. I just wanted to make sure you and I were good ’cause I like you.”
In an interview with Billboard this month, Manson recalled meeting Bieber after learning that he wore a Marilyn Manson shirt on stage — and that the shirts were being sold during his Purpose tour.
“I ran into him in some fancy bar,” Manson said. “I saw a little girl in a pink hoodie with blond hair, and it turns out to be Bieber.
“I sit down, and I say, ‘Hey, so you wore my shirt and everything onstage.’ He was one of those touchy people that hit you when they talk, and he comes up to about d**k height. Then he goes, ‘I made you relevant again.’”
Manson told Consequence of Sound: “He was a real piece of s*** in the way he had the arrogance to say that.”
After receiving Bieber’s apologetic text message, Manson wrote back: “You are just being you. No beef here.”
“We are cool,” Manson added. “And don’t apologize. You weren’t an a**h***. They asked if you were and I sort of agreed. I wasn’t out to get you.”
