Katy Perry has postponed the start of Witness: The Tour due to “unexpected production delays.”
In a statement, the singer said “major elements of my tour stage design could not be available for me to rehearse on until this week. I’ll be spending the next few weeks taking the time to properly prepare the show to be an experience I am proud to share with you.
“I'm sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but hope everyone who sees the show will agree it was worth the wait.”
The tour is now scheduled to kick off on Sept. 19 at Montreal’s Bell Centre instead of Sept. 7 in Columbus, Ohio. (The Montreal show was originally set for Sept. 9.)
Two Toronto shows have been moved to Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
Perry will play Quebec City on Oct. 9. Her Feb. 5 date in Vancouver remains unchanged.
Perry also announced on Thursday that Canada’s own Carly Rae Jepsen will open for her January and February shows. Noah Cyrus is the opener for dates in September to Nov. 1 and Purity Ring will take over Nov. 7 to Dec. 20.
