Lady Gaga cancelled her appearance at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil after being taken to hospital with “severe pain.”
The 31-year-old superstar, who recently revealed she suffers from fibromyalgia, apologized to fans on social media.
“I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now,” Gaga captioned a photo of an IV drip in her arm. “I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon.”
According to a statement Gaga shared on social media, the singer “is under the care of expert medical professionals.”
"It is not simply hip pain or wear and tear from the road," Gaga wrote in another Instagram post. "I am in severe pain."
Earlier this month, Gaga cancelled a concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal due to illness. Promoters said in a statement that Gaga “will need to reschedule this evening’s show due to respiratory infection and laryngitis.”
Gaga kicked off her Joanne World Tour in Vancouver on Aug. 1 and it is scheduled to wrap up on Dec. 18 in California. Her next scheduled concert is Sept. 21 in Barcelona.
