Despite cutting her Joanne tour short in February due to yet another flare up of chronic pain, Lady Gaga came out on top, beating her previous tour records with $95 million (all figures U.S.) earned from 841,935 tickets sold.
The pop star ended the tour in Birmingham, England on Feb. 1. The Joanne tour launched on Aug. 1, with Gaga playing mostly arenas – although it included four major US stadium shows including New York City, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, according to Billboard.
The highest sales for the stadium performances were at Citi Field in NYC with $9.5 million, and the highest arena sales were claimed at The Forum in LA with $3.6 million over a two-night run.
Gaga’s Joanne tour also produced higher gross sales than her previous Monster Ball, Born This Way, and Artpop tours.
Other contenders in the current top-grossing tours include Jay-Z, Billy Joel, Van Morrison, Lana Del Rey, The Killers, Chicago, and Canada’s Nickelback, according to Billboard Boxscores.
Gaga will return to the stage for her new 74-show Las Vegas residency at MGM’s Park Theater at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino at the end of this year.
