Lil Wayne surprised fans on Christmas with the release of a new mixtape, Dedication 6, featuring covers of recent hits, including samples of Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA” and Jay-Z’s “The Story Of O.J.” for his “Blackin’ Out” track.

Dedication 6 is Wayne’s latest instalment of his Dedication series, with the first being released back in 2005. Although many artists now release mixtapes simply as an alternate version of an album, Wayne still treats them as he always has – reworking other rapper’s songs as his own and releasing them for free.

Other features on the mixtape include a version of Post Malone’s “Rockstar” featuring Nicki Minaj for Wayne’s track “5 Star,” and a remix of 21 Savage’s hit “Bank Account.”
