Rapper Lil Xan claims he was hospitalized Monday after eating too many Flamin’ Hot flavoured Cheetos.
The 22-year-old, whose real name is Diego Leanos, showed off his hospital bracelet in a video he shared on Instagram.
“I just want to let everybody know I was in the hospital, not due to any drugs but I guess I ate too many hot Cheetos,” he said. “And I guess it ripped something in my stomach a little bit so I puked a little blood.
“So we good!”
The reason for Lil Xan’s hospitalization has not been independently verified.
In a statement, the company said: “Flamin’ Hot Cheetos meet all applicable food safety regulations, as well as our rigorous quality standards. That said, we realize some consumers may be more sensitive to spicy foods than others and may choose to moderate consumption or avoid spicier snacks due to personal preference."
In a follow-up video, Lil Xan said he has never felt “healthier or more sober in my life” and said he was “clear-headed” and looking forward to his tour, which kicks off Wednesday in New York City.
The rapper has been dealing with his split from singer Noah Cyrus and the loss of Mac Miller, whom he described as his hero. Lil Xan added the Latin phrase “Memento Mori” (Remember Death) to his collection of face tattoos.
