Alessia Cara has released a new song titled “The Other Side”. Created for part two of the Baz Luhrmann Netflix series The Get Down, the song is a lofty ballad about leaving everything that you know for a better future.
The song is an alternate version of a song performed in the series by its two leads, Mylene Cruz (Herizen Guardiola) and Books (Justice Smith).
“These streets aren’t easy and I need your hand to hold so I’m not alone,” Cara sings. “And I hear all these voices/ know they try to slow me down/ I can tune them out.”
