UK singer Dido announced early Monday details of her first new album in five years and a tour that includes a pair of Canadian dates.
Still On My Mind, a follow-up to 2013’s Girl Who Got Away, will drop March 8. Dido will hit the road – for the first time in 15 years – and stop June 15 at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall and June 29 at Orpheum in Vancouver.
Dido is best known for her hits “Thank You” and “White Flag.”
Still On My Mind was crafted in England with her brother, Faithless founder Rollo.
“It was simple, I only wanted to make another album if it was with him,” Dido explained, in a release. “It was made in such an easy way, all the vocals recorded on the sofa, a lot of it recorded at home.”
The 46-year-old singer said the new album has a dance/EDM sensibility but encapsulates many genres. She’s previewing the sound with the first single, “Hurricanes.”
“I wanted to capture the feeling I still get from listening to music, just that rush like you don’t need anything more than this.”
