LISTEN: Kesha Debuts 'Here Comes The Change'
Kesha on Wednesday released “Here Comes The Change,” a song from the soundtrack to the forthcoming film On the Basis of Sex.
The track was written by Kesha, Drew Pearson and Wrabel specifically for the movie, which was shot last year in Montreal. The story of the early days of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg stars Felicity Jones and Armie Hammer.
“I greatly admire Kesha's artistry and commitment to activism,” director Mimi Leder said, in a release. “I wanted her to write this song because her passionate voice and immense talent magnify the social justice imperatives Ruth Bader Ginsburg continues to fight for every day.
“It was important to both of us that this song be not only an anthem to all that Ruth Bader Ginsburg achieved, but also a rallying cry for how much more change is yet to come.”
Kesha sings: “One day I’ll be gone / The world will keep turning / I hope I leave this place / better than I found it.”
On the Basis of Sex opens in limited release on Christmas Day.
