After taking a break to recover from the phenomenal success of his 2014 debut In The Lonely Hour, Sam Smith is back with a new song.
The British singer has debuted an emotional song, “Too Good at Goodbyes” — his first new song since the Spectre theme “Writing’s On the Wall” in 2015.
“Every time you hurt me, the less that I cry,” Smith sings. “And every time you leave me, the quicker these tears dry.”
He’s backed by a choir on the titular chorus.
“Too Good at Goodbyes” is the first single from Smith’s forthcoming sophomore album, on which he has a duet as well as a collaboration with Timbaland. Although he hasn’t revealed the title yet, we know it will be out before Christmas.
Smith broke out with three big hits — “Stay With Me,” “I’m Not the Only One” and “Lay Me Down” — and earned four Grammys, including Best New Artist. “Writing’s On the Wall” also picked up an Oscar and Golden Globe.
