The Chainsmokers added some heat to the summer on Friday with the release of a new single, “Side Effects.”
The track features vocals by the duo’s longtime collaborator Emily Warren.
“We felt it was time for a summer jam rooted in the sound we created when we first started making records,” The Chainsmokers said, in a release.
“Our music is always a current reflection of how we feel, what inspires, and who we are in that particular moment.”
The song’s release comes with a lyric video (check it out below) but The Chainsmokers promise an official video – with a cameo by a “recognizable actress” – is coming soon.
“Side Effects” follows the singles “Somebody,” “Sick Boy,” “You Owe Me,” and “Everybody Hates Me.” Next month, The Chainsmokers find out if they’ve won anything at the Teen Choice Awards and MTV VMAs.
