Michael Bublé Admits He Almost Gave Up Music

Michael Bublé has revealed that he was willing to give up his career for the sake of his cancer-stricken son.

“I truly thought I’d never come back to music,” the Canadian crooner told Australia’s Herald Sun. “Family is what matters.

“The health of my children is number one. The relationship with my family, my wife, my faith – all of it is easily number one.”

Bublé’s eldest son with wife Luisana Lopilato was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016. At the time, the singer said he was stepping away from music to focus on Noah’s health.

Bublé said he gained some perspective. “I remember sitting in the hospital room thinking … I was worried about record sales or a meme or what some a**hole said about me? In a second it had gotten so clear.”

He and Lopilato, who also have two-year-old son Elias, are  expecting a baby girl this summer.

Noah, now 4, is doing well, but Bublé said it was not a journey he’s anxious to take again.

“I don’t talk about the whole story, not even to my friends because it hurts too much,” Bublé said. “He’s my superhero, he doesn’t need to relive it over and again.

“But I’ve been to hell. And you know what, hell seems like a really nice place to vacation compared to where we’ve been.”

Bublé added that he's ready to come back to entertaining his fans. "I’m going to go back to what I was made to do," he said. "I’m going to come back to a world that needs love and romance and laughter more than it has in a long time.

"I’m going to be a conduit to that."
