Miley Cyrus has teamed up with conservation group Pacific Wild to protect Canadian grizzly bears.
The singer is featured in a video for the #SaveBCBears campaign, which calls on the B.C. government to close an alleged loophole in a pending trophy hunting ban that will allow hunters to kill grizzlies if they claim it’s for food.
Cyrus sings a verse from the children’s song “Teddy Bear Picnic” over scenes of forests.
“If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise," she sings. "If you go down to the woods today, you better go in disguise.”
The trophy hunting ban is set to go into effect at the end of November. There are an estimated 15,000 grizzly bears in B.C.
Pacific Wild said grizzly bears are not a “necessary or ethical food source” and hunting them should be banned completely. It claims 300 of the bears were killed last year in the province.
Cyrus partnered with Pacific Wild two years ago to protest the B.C. wolf cull.
