Nelly Furtado has been out of the headlines for nearly five years, but the Canadian pop icon is back with brand new song “Cold Hard Truth.”
The track is the second off of new album The Ride, following her December release for “Pipe Dreams”. She hasn’t released a full-length studio album since 2012’s The Spirit Indestructible.

The Grammy-winning singer debuted the song on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night. “Cold Hard Truth” is the product of producer John Congleton, best known for his work with enigmatic pop star St. Vincent.
It marks Furtado’s first single since last year’s “Behind Your Back”, which she deemed an “appetizer” for this new album. As she sings on “Cold Hard Truth”, her comeback has “been a long time coming, coming, coming”.
