She will also do a full concert in Parc des Faubourgs in Montreal on Aug. 18 as part of the city’s annual Pride celebrations. Organizers are already estimating up to 30,000 people will take in the free outdoor show.
“My gay and lesbian fans have been with me from the beginning,” Furtado once said. “I think they could connect to the individualism and free-spiritedness that’s in the songs.
“A lot of my gay fans really like my early radio stuff, which I think are a lot about being true to yourself.”
Furtado’s hits include “I’m Like a Bird,” “Turn Off the Light,” “Maneater” and “Promiscuous.”
