Ever since our dear sweet Niall Horan shared his very first solo single 'This Town,' we couldn't get enough. We heard him perform the tune at all of his appearances during this month's iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour where he promised the next time he hits the stage, he'll have a lot more music, and now, we're getting an idea of what that might sound like.
Niall has been hard at work on his debut solo album, and in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he says that his upcoming record will have a "folk-with-pop feel to it." However, he adds that some of the songs do have an electric side to them. He tells EW, "Some of the songs are heavier than others. I play a bit of electric on some tracks and we obviously played around a lot with percussion stuff to build up the songs so there was a lot of things going on percussion-wise."
No official release date or album title has been revealed for Niall's solo album, but we cannot wait to hear it. Back in November, Niall told iHeartRadio during an interview a few other details of what fans can expect:
"There [are] one or two more [acoustic songs]. There's one in particular that's probably my favorite that is literally, from what I can kind of guess, it's gonna be just me and an acoustic guitar, and maybe a tiny, little bit of piano." He adds, "But the rest of them are a bit more gigged up, because if I play 13 of like 'This Town' at a concert, you'd probably bore people to death, so I'm not gonna do that. And also, these bands that I grew up listening to have up tempo music too."
