Some people were surprised to learn that P!NK will be the recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards — including certain Christina Aguilera fans, who were hoping Aguilera would receive this year's top honour.
After the big reveal on Tuesday, some fans of the former The Voice coach went in on the "What About Us" singer on social media.
But, P!NK wasn't having anything to do with digging up the heavily-publicized feud from the 2000s.
After the announcement, the pop vet hit back. “Want to point out an awful new phenomenon of the last 10 years," she wrote. "We can no longer be happy for each other. I [love] Xtina, we’ve made amends.
“Music brings us all together. The best part of music is — there’s room for everyone to win at the same time. Don't be what’s wrong w/da world.”
She added: "Let's be an example of inclusion and celebration. You don't have to like me at all, I'm ok with that. Just be a decent person."
Even though Aguilera was reportedly in the running for this year's Vanguard award, P!NK will join the likes of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna.
She'll also perform at the Aug. 27th ceremony in Los Angeles.
