Zayn just partnered up with Sia for his new single, “Dusk till Dawn,” but the former One Direction heartthrob is already teasing another star-studded collab with none other than Nicki Minaj.
On Friday, Zayn confirmed the news in an interview with BBC's Radio 1, detailing that his upcoming LP will include a guest verse from the Young-Money-Honey-Minaj. Word of a team-up between these two surfaced in March when Zayn reportedly played the track for a few lucky fans during a listening party. "They played Zayn's new song with bloody Nicki Minaj," the fan tweeted earlier this year. "Literally one second in we heard "young money" and everyone lost their s**t. Nicki was rapping in the first verse, then it went into Zayn for the bridge and chorus. He was singing.”
Zayn’s previous single, "Still Got Time,” was co-produced by Murda and Frank Dukes, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch. Dukes is the man behind a few Nicki Minaj cuts, including Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up's "Freedom," "High School" and "Up In Flames."
In May, RCA Records CEO Peter Edge spoke with Entertainment Weekly, revealing that listeners will hear the 24-year-old in a brand-new light. "It wasn’t easy making that decision and having the courage to step out first and make a record," Edge confessed. "This album has a more optimistic tone to it after coming through that more challenging time. It shows a lot of growth."
