The memoir Prince was writing before his death in 2016 will be out on Oct. 29, the publisher announced Monday.
Randon House told The Associated Press that The Beautiful Ones combines the singer’s unfinished manuscript – he had reportedly completed 50 handwritten pages – with rare photos and lyrics.
“The Beautiful Ones is the deeply personal account of how Prince Rogers Nelson became the Prince we know,” read a statement from the company. “The real-time story of a kid absorbing the world around him and creating a persona, an artistic vision, and a life, before the hits and the fame that would come to define him.”
The 288-page book, which was announced only weeks before Prince died, is being published with the cooperation of his estate.
Sunday marked the third anniversary’s of Prince’s death from an accidental overdose of fentanyl. He was 57.
