Someone paid more than $93,000 to snap up a pair of boots that once adorned the feet of Prince.
The yellow custom-made satin boots the singer wore on the European leg of his 1987 Sign o’ the Times tour, were sold this week by a Boston auction house. They fetched $75,147 U.S.
Other Prince memorabilia at the auction included a copy of Prince’s unreleased 1986 album Camille, which sold for $73,000. Handwritten notes on the Purple Rain soundtrack went for nearly $64,000.
Handwritten lyrics to “The Ladder,” a lace crop top, and a tambourine from his Parade Tour were among the 200 items available.
Prince died in 2016 of an opioid overdose. He was 57.
