Jerhonda Pace has spoken out about alleged sexual abuse by R. Kelly.
In an interview on The Real that aired Monday, Pace said she met the singer at his 2008 trial on child pornography charges (he was acquitted) when she was 15.
A year later, Pace found herself at Kelly’s home, where she alleged he took her virginity. What followed was a controlling relationship that included physical and sexual abuse, she claimed.
Pace also detailed how Kelly allegedly employed a “trainer” for young girls like her.
“He told me to look at her and he said, ‘she’s going to teach you everything you need to know.’ And he told me to remove my clothes and that’s when me and her engaged in sexual activity,” said Pace.
“I was scared. I was really nervous. I just went along with anything he was asking me but I was scared.”
Pace also alleged Kelly slapped her and locked her in a room “for days.”
She said she managed to escape one day while Kelly was preparing for a party.
“I told him my uncle lived a few doors down and I wanted to go to my uncle's house to grab some shoes. And he was like, 'Okay, well when you get there, you get the shoes and you come right back.' And at that moment, when I knew I got out the house, I was like, 'I'm not going back. I refuse.' I wasn't going back,” said Pace.
“I lied to get out. I left everything behind. The only thing I had in my hand was a cell phone and that's because of course you need to communicate with him to get back in. I left everything and I just never looked back.”
A lawyer for Kelly has previously denied the allegations.
