On Instagram, Rod Stewart's wife recently posted a video of the 72-year-old rocker and his friends in a desert near Abu Dhabi, but she later deleted the clip after people got upset over what was in it – Rod seemingly reenacting an ISIS-style execution.
In the video Penny Lancaster posted, Rod can be seen with a friend kneeling in front of him facing forward. Stewart holds the man's hair and makes a cutting motion across his throat.
After seeing the negative response, the "Maggie May" singer released a statement that reads, "From re-enacting the Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game Of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show. Understandably, this has been misinterpreted and I send my deepest apologies to those who have been offended."
Rod will be in another desert this month – Las Vegas – continuing his residency at Caesars Palace. Get all his dates here.
