Shawn Mendes fans know a lot about his life – but they don’t know much about geography.
On Thursday, Mendes announced he has added a June 17 show at Sasktel Centre in Saskatoon, prompting fans around the world to wonder... where the f**k is Saskatoon?
“saksawhat,” one fan tweeted.
“Idek where that is but YAY,” someone replied. Wrote another, in Spanish: “And where is that?”

Several fans did a quick search online. “Is it bad that I had to google where that is,” wrote one. Said another: “ok i had to Google to know where is it, it's a city in Canada.”
A few guessed the prairie city was actually in Asia. “By the name I thought it was in China but it’s in Canada," read one tweet. Another fan wrote: “I think it’s in Canada or if not China."
“It’s like a province (?) of canada haha,” someone offered.
One fan admitted: “Most of us know nothing about geography.” So, it was a learning experience. “Wow, today is a good day to discover certain parts of the world that I did not know existed,” tweeted another.
Of course, fans who know exactly where Saskatoon is – because they live there – were not exactly thrilled about the new tour stop.
“u mean i risked my finals and bought tickets to the edmonton concert for nothing,” one tweeted. Another wrote: “bought tickets for edmonton on June 16th and now he’s coming to where i actually live a day after.”
