Canadian pop singer Shawn Mendes announced Friday he is partnering with Red Cross to assist with relief efforts in Mexico after a tragic earthquake caused 200 deaths and left hundreds injured and homeless.
Mendes was on his way to Mexico for a performance when he caught word of the catastrophe and got to see some of the aftermath for himself. The singer and his management company has since donated $100,000 (U.S.).
Alongside the singer's donation, Mendes created a CrowdRise campaign accompanied by a video clip to help raise awareness and further relief efforts.
