Shawn Mendes Talks Album Conspiracy Theories

Following the release of his self-titled album, Shawn Mendes took a moment during iHeartRadio's Wango Tango on Saturday to discuss the array of fan conspiracy surrounding the project that surfaced among social media.

"When we were releasing the music, we had a font," Mendes said. "Basically it would say 'In My Blood' and it would be ‘B-L-O-O,’ and there was like a space before the ‘D’. Just a space. And I have no idea why we did that. They thought it was a secret kind of thing where we were trying to code them.

"They thought it was a secret to the album name, and I was like, ‘No, it’s nothing to do with that.’ I had this one in my back pocket, and it’s called 'Shawn Mendes.'”

The Canadian pop singer performed a number of songs from his latest album such as "In My Blood," "Lost In Japan," and “Nervous," along with fan favourites "There's Nothing Holding Me Back," "Stitches," "Mercy," as well as a mashup of "Treat You Better" and Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody.”
