Rapper The Game has scrapped a show next month at Edmonton nightclub The Ranch following the death of customer Mohamed Abdi in November.
“After being kicked out while intoxicated & not in the right mind state, he froze to death & his lifeless cold body was found the next day under a truck where he sought shelter because of the freezing temperature,” The Game wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday.
He blamed the venue’s staff and alleged they were “negligent & heartless.”
Abdi, 20, was told to leave the bar for being intoxicated. Police said no crime was committed but an investigation by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis is underway.
The Game said he will try to find another venue to host his show on Jan. 16, 2019. “If I cannot, then we will all have to sacrifice that night in Mohamed ‘Mo’ Munye Abdi’s name as well as Tyler Emes who died a year before.”
The Ranch has not yet commented on the cancellation or The Game’s comments.
The rap star launches a cross-Canada tour on Jan. 12 in Vancouver.
